Mr. S. Kaiser Ally, the founder and former Chairman of Aquamarine Ltd., is one of the most experienced and respected figures in the shipping industry of Bangladesh. He began his career with Heiligers (Burma) Limited as a trainee in 1957 in Rangoon, Burma, and went on to serve as a Director at Birds Bangladesh Agencies Ltd. In 1980, Mr. Ally left the company to establish Aquamarine Ltd., taking on the role of controlling shareholder.
He was also among the principal shareholders of Maersk Bangladesh Ltd., where his dedication and leadership over an eight-year period played a key role in strengthening Maersk’s market position in Bangladesh. Mr. Ally later separated from Maersk in early 1997 when the company became fully foreign-owned.
In addition to his business achievements, Mr. Ally served as the Founding President of the Steamer Agents Association of Bangladesh and as Vice President of the Bhatiary & Country Golf Club, Chittagong. He also holds the distinguished position of Honorary Consul of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Chittagong.
Mr. Javed Kaiser Ally joined Maersk Bangladesh Ltd. in 1993 as a Management Trainee after completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Purdue University, Indiana, USA. Following his initial training, Mr. Ally worked with Maersk Line in New Jersey, USA, for approximately eighteen months before returning to Bangladesh in 1995.
In 1996, he joined Aquamarine Ltd. as a Director, bringing with him valuable international experience and management expertise. Over the years, Mr. Ally has contributed significantly to the company’s growth and operational excellence.
Mr. Ally is also a widely traveled professional with extensive connections among leading business circles and government bodies in Dhaka and Chittagong.
